Blue Valley parents now have access to an expanded
set of online services to help them stay informed about the
academic progress of their child, pay a variety of fees and
keep up with the latest school and district news. BV Parents
Online provides parents with access to the following services:
Parent Assistant
Can't remember how many absences
your child has? Not sure how many credits they have earned
toward graduation? Parent
Assistant (external link) allows
parents timely access to information about their child.
Attendance, course
requests, credits earned, current year grades, and health
screening results are just some of the types of information
available online. Now all elementary, middle and high school
parents are able to access the system. Parents of high
school students will have online access to individual test
and assignment
grades in January 2004. Test and assignment grades will
be available to middle school parents in January 2005.
* To
gain access to Parent Assistant, parents will have to
report, in person, to the building of their oldest student,
with a picture ID, to register and receive their username
and password.
Homework Central
Does your child have any
homework
tonight? Did your child write down that assignment
correctly? There may be help for you at Homework
Central (external link).
Homework
Central is an online service that many Blue Valley teachers
use to
post homework assignments, class announcements, and
other useful information. It is one of the many options that
our teachers use to communicate with parents and students.
Teachers
may also use the telephone-based Homework Hotline.
Ask
your child's teachers to find out if they use Homework
Central.
Meal and Fee Payments
What parent hasn't had the experience
of finding out at the last minute that they need to add
money to their child's school meal account? With the online
Meal
and Fee Payment (external link) system, parents can
now sign up to receive e-mail notification that the balance
is running
low and
can conveniently add money to the account online using a
MasterCard, Visa, or Discover Card, as well as an e-check option. This service is available to all Blue Valley parents.
Parents also have the access to pay registration
fees online.
* Parents will need to have the student I.D. number for
each of their students in order to make meal and fee payments.
Voice Mail
If you're new to Blue Valley you will soon
learn that Voice Mail is one of the primary means of communication
between home and school. Parents who are new to the district
are encouraged to apply for voice mail by completing an
application
online or by obtaining an application from your child's
school office.
